RotM is upon us as the Tour in New England begins tomorrow morning. All focus is on McKenzie and his pursuit of the green jersey. He would be the first American rider to win the Sprint Classification in this tour. Stages 2 and 6 will be the targeted stages for wins. Though McKenzie is not considered to be in "top form" he does have 4 podium finishes in his last 4 races.
Douglas McKenzie took time to meet with the media tonight. When asked about how he feels physically heading into the tour, he said "I feel great, management gave the whole train a good week off to prepare before one last practice ride today."
When asked about today's practice, "Overall it was light. We went and ran the lead in to Laconia twice before heading to Boston and ran the course into Faneuil Hall twice. We really focused on the lead out and responsibilities of each rider on the team. "
He really hopes to bring home the win not just for the team but for his nation as well. Expect post stage press conferences after each stage.
